For the first time ever a Chilean wine makes it to the Top 3 in this momentous American annual ranking that celebrates, like they say at Wine Enthusiast, ‘the best of the best’.
Wine Enthusiast, the respected American wine magazine, published its top 100 picks of 2018 in its “The Enthusiast 100” Ranking, bringing exciting news for the local wine industry: Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 by Viña Santa Carolina was ranked third in this exclusive collection of wines produced by world-renowned wineries.
This is the highest position a Chilean wine has held in this influential ranking that every year celebrates the best wines in the world and which in 2018 evaluated no less than 24,000 wines from different regions, styles and price ranges.
“We are exceedingly proud to have ranked in the Top 3, among the best wines in the world and also to be the first Chilean bottling to make it to this list. The Enthusiast 100 is one of the most influential rankings nowadays and this recognition inspires us not only to continue making outstanding wines, but also to respect our Chilean Heritage. Reserva de Familia are wines filled with history that reflect the spirit of Santa Carolina of honoring our heritage while moving on with current times, which is exalted by this accolade,” expressed Paola Korach, Marketing Director at Viña Santa Carolina.
Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is sourced from the Maipo valley and contains 5% of Cabernet Franc, which confers elegance and complexity to this bright ruby red wine. The nose is packed with intense red fruit, plum, blackcurrant, and nutmeg aromas. The palate offers sweet and structured tannins and a long, elegant finish.
