The Colchagua Valley is the largest and southernmost of Rapel’s sub-appellations. Colchagua lies closer to the lower areas of the Coastal Mountain Range and thus benefits from the refreshing ocean breeze. This special combination brings about a prolonged and slow ripening period. Temperatures show great variation on any given summer day, enhancing the wines’ already expressive, fruity and balanced character even further.
The Miraflores and Los Lingues estates lie closer to the Andean foothills. Their age-old vines produce the grapes used for some of Santa Carolina’s fine wines labeled under the Colchagua appellation of origin.
