The Maipo valley is encased between the Andes and the Coastal mountain chain. Santiago, Chile’s capital city, sits in the midst of this valley of ideal climate marked by dry, hot summers and temperate, relatively rainy winters.
Located over 650 meters (2,133 feet) above sea level, the area of Maipo Alto clings to the Andean foothills and is strongly influenced by the mountain climate. The strong differences between daytime highs and night-time lows promote complex wines of rich colors and well-structured tannins.
