El PACTO - Romano 2022 - Best Buy

"The winery has preserved pre-phylloxera vines, including the rare César Noir, also known as Romano. This wine, sourced from the Cauquenes subregion of the Maule Valley, presents subtle aromas of sandalwood. It has tight tannins and flavors of cranberries and cherries, balanced out by subtle leafy notes. Viña Santa Carolina."

El PACTO - Romano 2021

"The 2021 El Pacto – Agreement 5 - Romano is produced from Romano, an obscure red grape they have rescued from their ancient vineyards and propagated three hectares from three plants. It's a grapey and primary red with herbal rusticity and a juicy palate, with 13% alcohol and very good freshness. 8,084 bottles were filled after 12 months in used French oak barrels, but the barrel is imperceptible."

El PACTO - Romano 2021 - 91 pts

"Floral nose with plenty of sour cherries and wild berries. Very vibrant and succulent on the medium-bodied palate. Sealed with very firm, almost rustic tannins, but not drying at all. It has nice crunch and drinkability. A very good and food-friendly romano. Drink now."
